Four Years Ago....

September 29th, 2011 was a day my life changed. Coming in at 6lbs, 11 oz at 1:28pm our first child was born. We named her Reba. Of course I had always loved kids and wanted a few of my own, but how much they change you is something we never really were taught at a young age. Kids were always a fun thing to dream about just like as a little girl we dream about our wedding day. Well I can honestly say that I was not prepared for how much my life would change that day. I was not the greatest momma to this little one because I didn’t know what I was doing becoming the first time momma. We had severe issues with her latching while breastfeeding which I wanted so badly, I was stressed, I didn’t know how to handle screaming/crying so I just broke down which is not what was needed. I just wasn’t that loving momma I had always dreamed of being. I still had a LOT of growing up to do for sure.

But now, she is turning 4 years old and I can say she is the smartest and sweetest girl I know. Now of course she has her parents’ temper/attitude at times but in reality, I couldn’t have been blessed with a better gift than I was on that day. She has taken my breath away several times with how much she has grown in the last year becoming that Christ following little gal. We have taught her quite a bit about Jesus and I am very grateful for that. Reba loves to read about Jesus, talk about Him, and tries her best not to make Him “cry”. She knows that when lying happens that we made Jesus cry because He doesn’t want us to lie. She made sure to inform Uncle Bret of that when they went out to eat and Bret told his wife, Aunt Paige, he was ordering one thing and then when he ordered he ordered something different, when Aunt Paige said, “I thought you were ordering this?” He looked up and said, “Oh, I guess I lied!” Reba immediately piped up and said, “Uncle Bret, you just made Jesus cry for lying!” He was so stunned but so filled with joy at the same time because of how fast she is learning and how smart she is.

Reba is without a doubt a very smart young lady because even her daycare/school is moving her up quickly because of how much she has learned and so quickly. She does NOT forget ANYTHING I swear! Even when we hope she will, she will always randomly surprise you with, “Um didn’t you say…?” or “Weren’t we…?” It just never fails; she always remembers something that we don’t. I find it irritating sometimes but then again, I can’t be mad at her. God gave us this smart thing for a reason!

Regardless, Reba is my pride and joy and I am so happy to be able to be called momma by this sweet thing. She has changed my life in so many ways; I don’t think there is enough time, paper, or days for me to write them all down. So from the bottom of this momma’s heart, I want to wish you, Reba Nadine, a very Happy and Special Birthday baby girl!!

FALLing Into a New Routine of Life…

Image from Google "fall leaves" search

Fall which happens to be my favorite time of year; I just love the colors, changing of leaves, all the amazing pumpkins smells, but most of all the brisk weather where just a sweat shirt is all you need. So today I have decided to write this post because for quite some time now I have wanted to start blogging again on a regular basis. So today being the first day of fall, decided to go ahead and “FALL” into that routine. Later down the road (hopefully sooner rather than later) I will start a YouTube Vlog as well.

Let’s begin…

My blog is a lifestyle blog that contains a little of everything. Working on a healthier lifestyle, organization, planning out my days/weeks, my faith, love, kids and more. I am also a photographer at heart (or hobbyist) and love embracing those memories by capturing those pictures. I am an Independent Consultant for Jamberry Nails which I absolutely love, plus very passionate about. If you have never heard about them or would like to receive a free sample please check me out. My site is katyvannicola.jamberrynails.net or katyvannicola1731@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you.

Another thing that I want to share is that I am a momma of two and well getting that motivation to get healthy and fit just seems to feel impossible. Do you know what I mean? So I also want to use my blog as a way of reaching out to those of you that have this same problem, let’s help support each other, lift each other up, make progress together, etc. For many busy women finding the time to work out or even think ahead for what we will be eating is just not on our priority list. We are more prone to think about our family before we ever think about taking care of ourselves. I have also found a lot of great recipes, tips, tricks, etc from mindovermunch.com and she also has a YouTube channel which is so great to watch. I have all of her eBooks and they are perfect for getting this lifestyle started when you are like me and want to start but don’t know where to start!

I also will share different recipes, faith based material, and other lifestyle events/activities, etc on my blog. So if you think you would like to continue to read or even be a part of the motivation lifestyle then come on back or follow me on any of these places.

Thanks for coming by...
